Baselode Energy Corp CEO James Sykes joined Proactive’s Stephen Gunnion with an update on the diamond drilling program on the ACKIO high-grade uranium zone at the Hook project in Saskatchewan.

Sykes said the drilling has extended mineralization in Pod 7 by about 50 meters from the previous model, showing great promise. Notably, high levels of radioactivity, exceeding 10,000 counts per second, suggest the potential for higher-grade uranium mineralization.

Sykes explained that higher counts often correlate with higher uranium concentrations, indicating significant potential for tonnage growth. The shallow nature of the radioactivity findings was highlighted as a positive factor, making the prospect more conducive to cost-effective open-pit mining operations.

While the current drilling program at ACKIO is being remodeled to better predict future exploration directions, the company is shifting its focus to near-Aqua reconnaissance exploration drilling.

Sykes said he was confident in the shallow mineralization and elevated radioactivity levels discovered so far, in line with Baselode’s objective of finding near-surface, high-grade uranium mineralization.

Regular news updates are expected every two to four weeks, with assay results following the conclusion of the drill program.
